What are the earliest signs that I am expecting?

A pregnancy test is a way to know that you are pregnant. You may also notice some subtle signs of pregnancy like fatigue, nausea, frequent urination, morning sickness, breast swelling, tenderness and a missed period.

How do i calculate my due date?

The average pregnancy is of 40 weeks or 280 days, so you can calculate your due date by adding 7 days to 9 months. Remember this is an estimate and not a definite certainty.

Is it safe to have sex when pregnant?

Sex is safe in pregnancy but your doctor may tell you to abstain if there is risk of premature labour or vaginal bleeding or any other high risk factor.

How important is to take prenatal vitamins?

Prenatal vitamins are vital in the wake of the increased demands of pregnancy. Growing a new person isn’t easy as your body and you will require additional vitamins and minerals in your diet, take folic acid, calcium and iron for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

What can i do to prevent heartburn in pregnancy?

Heartburn affects pregnant women due to growing uterus and progesterone, a hormone that relaxes muscle. However you can use certain tricks such as eating smaller and most frequent meals, taking a walk after meals, keeping the head and chest elevated while you sleep, wearing loose clothing, sipping ginger tea, and taking antacids alleviate indigestion and gas.

How can I prevent stretch marks?

Approximately 90% of pregnant women develop stretch marks as their body grows during pregnancy as the stomach, thighs, buttocks and breasts. You can do your part to prevent stretch marks by drinking lots of water to keep skin hydrated, by massaging your daily with a moisturizer or oil that’s high in Vitamin A & E and by consuming a diet that’s rich in Vitamins.

Can I exercise during pregnancy?

Yes! We want you to exercise 30-45 minutes of aerobic exercise. Exercising 4 to 5 times per week is a good goal.

How much weight should I gain during my pregnancy?

If you are within an appropriate weight for your height, than you should gain to 10 to 12 kilograms of weight during pregnancy. Most pregnant women gain very little in first trimester.
